About Patsy

Patsy is a registered clinical counsellor under BCACC.

She is experienced in working with adults and young adults of various ethnic and cultural identities. She specializes in working with clients struggling with a range of mental health problems such as depressionanxiety, obsessions and compulsions, trauma, disordered eating, bipolar disorder, and psychosis. Besides, she is also passionate about helping clients work through their life events or issues such as self-image, self-worth, grief and loss, work stress, intimate relationshipfertility, pre- and post-partum depression, parenting, attachment, co-dependency, and family dynamics.

Patsy received her Master’s (MSSc) Degree specializing in Clinical Psychology in Hong Kong where she had worked as a Clinical Psychologist for over 10 years. Patsy offers various approaches including Mindfulness-Based InterventionCognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma-informed therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Family Therapy. She is trained as an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) clinician, a Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) teacher from the Oxford Mindfulness Centre and Hong Kong Centre for Mindfulness, and a Mindful Parenting teacher from Professor Susan Bogels. The exposure to Buddhist Psychology through the training and practice of mindfulness has broadened Patsy’s perspective in understanding the causes of her clients’ sufferings, which helps inform the way out.

Prior to engaging in the mental health sector, Patsy worked in business marketing. She has also been actively involved in various sports. She is a wife and a mother of a pre-teen and has begun a new chapter in Canada with her family. To her, every part of her experience helps in her encounter with clients.

In face of life's challenges, it is not uncommon to run away from them or fight so hard trying to get rid of them. More often than not, neither way leads to a peaceful mind. Patsy believes that healing starts when we are aware of ourselves. From there, Patsy walks together with her clients to face the unwelcomed, to examine the vulnerabilities and resilience, and to navigate the relationships with others and ourselves – in a direction which aligns more with the clients’ values and leads to a more peaceful, meaningful and satisfying life. Each client is unique, and the therapeutic process is dynamic. Patsy will work with you on the choice of treatment approach, accompany and guide you through the discovery and recovery journey, and prepare you for future challenges.

Patsy speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and English fluently and offers online and in-person services.
