About Iris
Iris is a practicum student in the Master of Counselling Psychology program at Adler University. She enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families. She believes that at different stages of life, everyone faces unique transitions and challenges such as academic or work stress, identity exploration, relationship conflict, marriage, parenting, and grief.
Over the past decade, Iris has journeyed from confusion to clarity in understanding who she is. Growing up as a daughter in an Asian family and as an immigrant receiving a Western education, she learned to step away from external expectations and truly see and understand what she wants. Having experienced the loneliness and difficulty of this journey, she hopes to be someone who can walk alongside clients during tough times and support them in finding their own way. She wants clients to know: you’re not alone.
Her approach is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy and integrates Cognitive Behavioural therapy, attachment-based perspectives, and meditation practices. She values multicultural awareness, openness, and a non-judgmental attitude in her own practice, viewing these qualities as equally essential as empathy and care in creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel truly seen, understood, and accepted.
